In the wake of a New Year's attack on Bourbon Street that resulted in at least 10 deaths, the scheduled Sugar Bowl matchup for Wednesday night has been postponed, New Orleans district attorney Jason Williams told CBS's WWL-TV. The College Football Playoff quarterfinal game between 2-seed Georgia and 7-seed Notre Dame is now scheduled to be played Thursday, Jan. 2 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Governor Kevin Stitt announced that Ellen Buettner will serve as his chief health and mental health advisor, in addition to her role as CEO of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Buettner, appointed as CEO in 2023, leads the agency administering Oklahoma's Medicaid program, serving over 1 million residents, according to a press release.

After 48 years of service to Griffin Media, President Rob Krier is retiring and moving to a newly created position of president emeritus. Wade Deaver, the current vice president of sales who joined the company 25 years ago will succeed Krier as president of Griffin Media, effective Oct. 1, 2023.
